I Love You With All My Hearts Choker: Crafturday

Etruscan Locket Ring: Don Biu

I went away to Australia for a number of reasons. My jewelry and home decor sells well there, so I was always curious about the fashion, the people and the culture Down Under. There were makers and creators that I had communicated with for years online that were based there, so that was always a pull as well. Lastly, I have an insatiable desire to explore. I love nothing more than wandering down little alleyways and into cute boutiques (which Melbourne has plenty of), not knowing what I’m going to find, being pulled in every direction that excites me. Doing this in a city, without any time constraints, is one of my favorite things to do.

But perhaps the most important reason I moved, which I was completely unaware of until returning, was to build inner confidence. Moving somewhere unfamiliar with little-to-no plan, taking challenges head-on, and living/surviving/thriving in a completely unfamiliar place…words can’t describe the amount of self-trust this built. The feeling of knowing you can pick up and start anywhere is indescribable.

Often times, when we are caught up in the day-to-day, we start to be directed by the environment rather than our own values. We forget who we are because we’ve been reinforced by other peoples goals, hopes and dreams rather than our own for far too long. We become a static character carrying out a role instead of consciously evaluating who we are and what unique gifts we can bring to this world. We make decisions from a place of self-imposed limitations. We are ruled by our limiting beliefs.

I realize moving across the ocean is a drastic measure (lol). But all it really takes is a change of scenery, taking a certain class, meeting a certain person, etc to get you out of your comfort zone and into yourself. Once you think of yourself in a different, more capable light, there’s no end to what you can achieve. You gain your person power when you drop the limiting beliefs ♡
